Summer camp registration
Summer camp registration opens on May 21 for Ivany Campus and May 22 for Burridge, Cumberland, Kingstec and Sydney Waterfront Campuses. Registration is open until June 30, or once all spots are filled. Limited spaces are available.
Nova Scotia Apprenticeship Agency's Youth Skilled Trades Camps provide hands-on experiences for youth in grades 7 through 9 across the province to discover skilled trades at no cost. Explore a new trade each day - such as carpentry, welding, automotive service repair, culinary and more - and discover careers that shape our communities.

What’s a typical day like?
- Arrive to begin at 9 am.
- Try a trade during a hands-on learning workshop. Explore a different trade each day.
- Participate in fun, teambuilding activities.
- Participate in safety training. Topics include safe tool use, personal protective equipment (PPE), potential hazards and more.
- Learn about trades careers in Nova Scotia.
- Wrap up at 4 pm.

Camp details
- Cost: Free
- Time: 9 am to 4 pm
- Capacity: 60 campers in grades 7 through 9 per camp. Campers must be 12 years of age (minimum) at the start of camp.
- Important note: Campers must attend the Monday of the Skilled Trades Camp for mandatory safety training. Campers who do not attend safety training will not be permitted to attend the remainder of the week.
- Summer 2025 camps are delivered in partnership with Skills Canada - Nova Scotia.

No. The first day of camp is dedicated to important safety training and all campers must complete the training before entering any workshops.

Registration is open from May 21 to June 30 or until full. Once a camp is full, guardians may apply to a waitlist.
Select the “Register now” button located on the Youth Skilled Trades homepage. The button will redirect users to NSCC’s registration platform (Con Ed). From there, the user can complete the first step of registration by selecting “Trades Youth Camp”, completing all required fields then submitting the registration document.
It’s important to note that there is a second step to the registration process. Once a user has submitted the registration form via NSCC’s website, they will receive an email that includes a link to a participant registration form. Parents must review and return the form via email to the address provided in order to complete the second step of the registration process. The participant registration form will include a link to camp guidelines and procedures.
Campers are not fully registered until the user receives an email confirming their spot in a camp.
Yes. Users must create a log in before they can register. This can be done before camp registration opens on May 21. Please note, there are no fees or payment required to register for Youth Skilled Trades Camps.
To register multiple campers online, you must create a separate account for each camper using a unique email address. You cannot re-use the same email address to register multiple campers.
Yes, you can register by phone or in person at the campus where your preferred camp is taking place. Learn about registration options.
No. Parents must complete the skilled trades camps registration and consent forms to receive confirmation for their child’s enrollment. This fillable form will be automatically sent to the email used to register the child online.
Yes, short waitlists will be put into place as camps fill. If there is room on the waitlist, you'll be added to it through the online registration system or by phone or in person (depending on how you choose to register). When the waitlist is full, the camp will appear full online.
