Playwrights Guild of Canada (PGC) is offering a part-time temporary position with our organization. The Communications Assistant will support the Arts Administration team in the implementation of social media planning and implementation and online event postings.
Playwrights Guild of Canada is a national arts service organization and a registered charity. The organization supports playwrights across the country and is a busy office environment requiring all employees to be dedicated team members, good communicators, organized and capable of managing multiple projects. The position can be completed in a remote, on-site or hybrid environment in accordance with current, regional public health restrictions.
The Communications Assistant will work closely with the PGC team and report to the Executive Director. The position will cover a variety of communications tasks, with a focus on social media, online events, newsletters and emails.

The Communications Assistant will be required to work with Facebook, Instagram, Planable, Microsoft 365, spreadsheets, word processing, email, and cloud files. The candidate will be trained in WordPress and SalesForce. The Communications Assistant will attend regular staff meetings, ad hoc meetings, and work with internal and external stakeholders. The position requires a high level of written and oral professional communication. The candidate must be able to manage projects, maintain a keen attention to detail and deadlines and clearly communicate project updates and requirements with team members.
