Land & Sea Instrumentation Ltd., located in Dartmouth Nova Scotia, is seeking a Valve Technician to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have a drive to succeed with a focus on team work to develop a strong working relationship.
Responsibilities will include servicing, testing, removal, installation and inspection of a variety of valves along with other duties as requested.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proper disassembly/assembly and repairing of a variety of valves
- Documentation of repair/assembly activities
- Testing of a variety of valves (air/liquid/steam)
- Lapping / repairing parts
- Surface grinding, re-facing gates and seats depending on facing material
- Housekeeping and cleanup of workplace
- Assembly of new equipment or repaired equipment
- Nameplate stamping and tagging in accordance with VR Program
- Final inspection and completion of inspection report
- Participation in field service calls, as required, at customer sites. May require overnight stays as required
- Work as part of a large group of technicians within workshop; and independent or as part of smaller group of technicians troubleshooting products
- Fast pace and challenging mechanical environment
- Operating overhead crane (Training Provided)
- Operating forklift (Training Provided)
Physical Requirements: Exposure to loud noise, vibrations and bright lights. Exposure to various weather climates. Required to lift up to 50lbs or more. Bending, lifting, climbing, sitting and standing for long periods of time.

Schedule: Monday to Friday (8 hour shift) Overtime as required
Rate of pay will be established depending on experience and ability.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Mechanical experience would be considered an asset
- Must have a willingness to enhance your skill set
- Able to make accurate and intelligible reports (written and verbal)
- Able to assume responsibility and handle multiple tasks under potentially stressful and/or hazardous conditions
- Previous experience with measurement devices and testing equipment / gauges would be considered and asset
- Machining experience would be considered an asset
- Demonstrate sound judgment with the ability to make decisions and corrections- Must be able to travel for work when necessary
- Must possess a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- Must take pride in workmanship
- Must be able to obtain Controlled Goods and Federal Security Clearance as a condition of employment
