Manufacturing Engineering Technician

Role Description
Reporting to the Engineering Manager. This role will help Manufacturing Engineering improve, monitor and implement Products and Processes within the fabrication of Production Parts in accordance with customer requirements.
In this role, you will:
Assist Manufacturing Engineering to maintain and improve the existing product line and manufacturing process.
Configuration Management
Management of Customer requirements – AD-031/SOP-015/SOP-018/SOP-119
Primary support for established product lines/processes
Secondary support for new product lines/processes
Support Material Review Board
Non-Conformance evaluation and disposition
Secondary Support per SOP-031
Rework/Repair evaluation
Identification and release of standard rework per SOP-032
Secondary support for Standard rework creation and custom reworks per SOP-032
Root Cause/Corrective Action
Support Production Process Training – SOP-227
Secondary support for Training Plan creation/management
Secondary support for Training of Technical Leaders/Trainers
Support Continuous Improvement Projects
Part of Team for Projects
Review production processes, engineering specifications and related information to improve/update current knowledge and implementations of manufacturing methods, procedures, and activities in assigned process(es)/program(s).
Perform other tasks as required.
You have:
Associate degree in engineering technology/related field OR 2 years’ experience in Manufacturing
Degree in Industrial/Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering or equivalent from a recognized Post-Secondary Institution with 2 years’ experience
Knowledge and experience with Industry Quality Management Systems an asset, such as:
AS9100
ISO 9001
Transport Canada
NADCAP
Aerostructures and Composite Manufacturing processes experience an asset.
Composite Layup, Winding and Fiber Placement
Composite Trimming and Machining
Bonding, sealing, hardware installation (Composite and Metal Structures)
Finish application (Composite and Metallic Structures)
Inspection techniques (Metrology, Non-Destructive Inspection, etc.)
Excellent Communication (written and oral) and Teamwork skills
Focus on Technical writing.
Ability to lead and be part of a multi-disciplinary team an asset.
Work Management skills an asset.
Resourceful and organized with an attention to detail.
Ability to manage, prioritize and balance multiple tasks.
Ability to work within a team environment.
Understanding and ability to read Technical Data Package (Drawing, Process Specifications, etc.)
Experience using CAD/CAM software an asset.
CATIA V5 preferred.
CATIA Composite Workbench, Fibersim or CATIA Composer an asset.
Root Cause and Corrective Action skills an asset
5 Why, Pareto Charts, Fishbone Diagram, etc.
Knowledge/Training with various manufacturing and quality philosophies (LEAN, 6-sigma, JIT, 5S, etc.) an asset
Experience using MS suite of products.
