Production Operator

About the Position

The Production operator works as part of an integral team responsible for the cement manufacturing process in an automated heavy duty industrial facility.  The position must act as a key player within the Production Team. Ensure the equipment is functioning properly, operated safely and efficiently. Ensure that all the necessary raw materials and fuels are fed correctly. Ensure that the products produced meet the quality requirements defined in the applicable standards.

Qualifications

• Technical diploma from a Post-Secondary program (Mechanical, Electrical or similar)
• Thrive in a highly participative work environment with minimal supervision
• Have a team player attitude and excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
• Have strong decision making skills and are able to prioritize and resolve issues in a timely manner
• Ability to work independently and alongside a team in a fast-paced production environment
• Proven work experience in an industrial facility
• Mechanical and/or electrical aptitude, including experience working with tools and/or equipment
• Must be safety–oriented
• Must be able to follow instructions, rules and regulations is essential
• Must be able to work rotating shifts, and any mandatory weekday/weekend
• Must be willing and able to perform work that includes manual lifting, carrying and moving tools and equipment; continuous walking and standing; regular bending
• Must participate in all contractual, legislative or corporately mandated training
• Must be able to use power/hand tools, hoists, and other equipment and machinery
• Be able to work rotating shifts
