To provide Engineering support, direction and guidance in the setup and implementation of new product(s)/process(es) and revisions or modifications to existing product(s)/process(es).
Manage and execute technical and project management activities to implement new product or changes to existing product
Establish Configuration Control of assigned product(s)/process(es)
Defining Development Plans
Execute Qualification activities
Work with Design Group to develop designs required to support implementation (part, tooling and shop aids)
Perform Continuous Learning activities to expand knowledge of existing and new products/processes/equipment in line with the business strategy
Review Engineering specifications, publications, manufacture methods, to expand existing knowledge
Perform Research into new process techniques, equipment, materials, software, etc. that provides value to the business
Degree in Industrial/Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering or equivalent from a recognized Post-Secondary Institution with 7 years’ experience (minimum 5 years in a manufacturing environment)
Aerostructures and composite Manufacturing processes experience an asset
Composite Layup, Winding and Fiber Placement
Composite Trimming and Machining Bonding, Sealing, Hardware installation (Composite and Metal Structures)
Finish application (Composite and Metallic Structures)
Inspection techniques (Metrology, Non Destructive Inspection, etc)
Excellent Communication skills, both written and oral
Focus on Technical writing Project Management skills
Scheduling/planning, budget and resource management, work breakdown and estimation, progress reporting, lessons learned.
Experience using CAD/CAM software
CATIA V5 preferred
CATIA Composite Workbench, FiberSIM an asset.
Knowledge/Training with various production philosophies (LEAN, JIT, 5S, etc)Experienced using MS suite of products.
