Reporting to Shop Foreman/ Millwork Manager, the cabinet maker is responsible for constructing and installing various millwork items.
- Construct various custom millwork items
- Install various custom millwork items
- Operate and maintain cabinet making tools and equipment
- Perform other related duties as required

Working Conditions -
Physical Demands
The cabinet maker has a physically strenuous and demanding job. The worker will be lifting, pulling and managing sheets of plywood, cabinets, and millwork. Environmental Conditions, The cabinet maker will be working in a shop environment which is subjected to dust, noise and smells. The worker may be exposed to dangerous and/or toxic substances and must take necessary precautions to protect eyes, nose and skin from irritation and infection(PPE).
Ability to work independently from plans, drawings, and sketch plans to specifications. Knowledge of hand and powertools, including; table saw, chop saw, band saw, routers, trimmers, sanders, pneumatic air staplers/ nailers, glue spray equipment, drill planes, edge banders, CNC , chisels, and files etc. This includes building millwork items such as cabinets, reception desks, display cases etc.
The incumbent must have proficient knowledge in the following areas:
- Knowledge of cabinet making
- Knowledge of safe operation of basic hand and power tools
- Knowledge of workplace safety and save lifting and handling procedures
- Knowledge of first aid and CPR
- Knowledge of WHMIS
- Forklift certification
