LOCATION: Offshore Newfoundland, Canada

TYPE OF RIG: DP3 6th Generation Ultra-Deepwater Semi-Submersible, Hercules 

ROTATION: 28/28 in NL

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Contract, Full Time

CONTRACT: Short Term Contract; Estimate 5-6 Months  

NUMBER OF POSITIONS: Four (4)  

JOB SUMMARY: Organizing/performing jobs in the pump room, mud mixing area and derrick, and assist in other areas as needed.

PRE-REQUISITES/QUALIFICATIONS:

·         High School Diploma or Equivalent

·         2+ years experience as a Derrickhand on 6th Generation Ultra-Deepwater Semi-Submersible

·         2+ years previous experience with AKER and MHWirth equipment

·         Safety Training Courses: Basic Survival Training, H2S Alive, Fall Protection, Confined Space Entry, Standard First Aid, Well Control Level 2, Security Awareness, WHMIS, Regulatory Awareness

·         Structured and organized mindset

·         High level of integrity

·         Analytical ability

·         Good verbal and written communication skills in English

·         Must pass Physical, Drug Screen and Background/Pre-Employment Screening Checks

Qualifications

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

Competence:

Perform on the job training in own areas. Be in accordance with own competence requirements at all times. Know working procedures and checklists of Odfjell’ s (DDI) within own area of responsibility.

Operations:

Supervision of the pump room, mud mixing equipment and drilling fluid. Frequently test the properties of the drilling fluid and keep records of the results. Perform maintenance activities. Keep the driller informed about the consistency of the drilling fluid as well as the general state of the pumps. Operate any drilling equipment in a proper manner within its capacity limits and at the correct tempo. Contribute to good communication between all involved in the ongoing operation. Keep the workplace tidy and clean. Emergency duties according to the unit’s emergency organization. Perform other duties as assigned.
