Position: Counsellor
Location(s): Camp Lion Maxwell, Barss Corner, Nova Scotia
Contract Dates: August 21st-27th 2023
About the Role: Reporting to the Head Counsellors, the counsellors primary focus is working directly with campers age 7-12, providing support, supervision and ensuring that campers are receiving a high-quality camping experience. Counsellors will support area instructors in all program areas, and actively participate in all activities along with their campers. Counsellors will work in instruction roles and give leadership to specific program areas throughout camp.
- Criminal Reference Check and Vulnerable Sector Check as per Diabetes Canada D-Camps policy - Knowledge of diabetes management in children and youth an asset - Leadership experience with children and youth. - Strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills. - -Basic level canoe qualifications an asset - Must have a valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level B certification.
