About the Position

Novatec Braids, Yarmouth, NS is currently recruiting for a Controller.

This position is ideal for passionate financial professionals who enjoy problem-solving, leading a dynamic team, and who want to work for a small and growing manufacturing company!

The Incumbent Will be Responsible for the Following Functional Areas: 

• Accounting, Finance, Auditing and Forecasting

• Administration

• Supervision 

Qualifications

• MBA, with 5 years’ experience
• CPA designation would be an asset, but not required; MS Office Certificate an asset but not required.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment
• Data entry; typing; keying; basic double entry accounting; office procedures; month end and year-end preparation and close, and preparation for outside use; forecasting; budgeting; financial planning; auditing; financial reporting; compliance; inventory management; VAT compliance; HR policy; multiple checking; and currency familiarity.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment, familiarity with asset controls, inventory controls, and cost accounting with variance analysis.
• MS Office Suite (proficient in Excel and Outlook); experience with accounting software packages like Sage or QuickBooks
• Experience with ERP or MRP is a firm requirement.
• The ideal incumbent must be adaptable in continuous learning environment; flexible to shifting between tasks; need to have superior attention to detail, analytical, and logical thinking skills; solid organization and time management skills; customer focused and have solid communication and active listening skills; demonstrated problem solving skills; leadership; as well as the ability to work independently, confidentially and under pressure.
