About the Position

Northwood is currently accepting applications for LPNs to join our Halifax Team!

Responsibilities: 

• Resident checks and rounds (including, but not limited to vitals, breathing, incontinent round, safety rounds, narcotic, charting)
• Medication administration (includes processing Doctor’s orders)
• Resident personal care (includes feeding/assistance, bowel care, dressing, wound care, blood work)
• Resident, family, and staff support (includes addressing questions and concerns, assisting other Northwood workers)
• General duties and administration (includes mail, paper work, ordering supplies, assigning duties)
• Completes other tasks and duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Licensed Practical Nurses with pharmacological training.
• Licensed Practical Nurse registered in the Province of Nova Scotia.
• Current basic CPR Recent clinical experience, including medication administration and leadership duties.
• Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular and consistent basis.
• Previous experience in gerontological nursing an asset Leadership /Charge experience preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Good problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Demonstrated use of proper body mechanics and ability to perform heavy lifting. Knowledge of / experience with a team based person-centered care approach. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of the interdisciplinary team
