Reporting to the Supervisor, Support Services and Manager, Support Services the CSA assists residents with meals and between meal refreshments, while ensuring the residents’ needs are being met.
Responsibilities:
· Cooks and serves meals
· Cleans kitchen and dining room
· Assists residents with meals and between meal refreshments
· Maintains cleanliness of assigned areas
· Provides meal service according to client individual diet
· Supports the client in adhering to special diet requirements as prescribed by the Clinical Dietitian
· Requests and accommodates client’s individual choices whenever possible
· Plans meals with the clients, House/ Unit Team and the Department of Food Service
· Cleaning of resident rooms and related spaces
· One to six months of relevant work experience
· Housekeeping, dietary, or personal care experience is considered an asset
· High School diploma or equivalent
· Food Safety Certificate required
· Food Handlers Certificate considered an asset
· WHMIS certificate is considered an asset
· Long term care experience is considered an asset
· Ability to maintain regular and consistent attendance
· Must be able to lift 20lbs at a time, in good general health and able to endure the day-to-day pressure of the position
