GP Joule Canada Corp. is currently seeking a Summer Student- Project Field Coordinator based out of our Calgary office and located in Nova Scotia.

The successful Summer Student- Project Field Coordinator will help coordinate the coordination of technical information and reports between the office in Toronto, Calgary, Halifax and 3 construction sites in Nova Scotia. The activities will include working under the supervision of the Provincial Operations Manager and directly with construction managers and project engineers to ensure all information needed at the construction sites from the various offices in Toronto, Calgary mostly (engineering, supply chain) and from the sites to various offices (construction, commissioning updates/reports questions) are answered and tracked.

You will use your expertise to: (You will be responsible for performing such duties and responsibilities which may be assigned to you from time to time by your Manager.)

  • Support Project Engineers/Managers with schedules, controls, reporting.
  • Support project engineers and managers in their day-to-day activities, helping with preparation of work breakdown structures Gantt charts updates.
  • Work in MSProject to develop and present cost and project status summaries.
  • The job will also provide exposure to an ERP system implementation through the review, consolidation, update, and integration of Company systems and procedures.
  • Set up and be part of functional team meetings involving engineering, supply chain, construction, and commissioning teams.

At work, people use digital technology skills to input, access, analyze, organize, create and communicate information and ideas using computers, software, point-of-sale equipment, email, podcasts, web applications, smart phones and other digital devices.  

Where you will be working, your work schedule, and other important information: The base hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on the business needs. You may be expected to travel across Canada (Ontario, Alberta, Saskatchewan, British Columbia, Nova Scotia), and US (primarily Mid-West, North-East) from time to time as an engineering representative of the Company.  GP Joule also offers an exciting, faced paced working environment with a competitive base salary based on experience and vacation allotments.
