Job Title: Customer Service/Sales

Reports to: Owner

Employment Status: Full time 40 hours/week

Experience: 6 months+ years of experience in customer service (sales/service); asset if mechanically inclined/intuitive ability to see how things work

Education: Grade 12 or equivalent education/experience

Language Requirements: oral and written communication in English is required

Work Setting: Retail, industrial setting

Salary: Commensurate with education and experience

Transportation: on bus route

Location: Burnside Industrial Park

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Primary responsibility will be greeting and managing the flow of customers in our showroom
• Fill customer orders from stock and place orders when requested items are out of stock
• Read catalogs or computer displays to determine replacement part stock numbers and prices
• Take customer orders from customers; gather product information to determine customer needs
• Explain technical products and features of various products we sell, based on knowledge of machines or equipment
• Demonstrate equipment to customers and explain functioning of equipment
• Process sales or other transactions; receive payment
• Prepare sales slips arrange for delivery of products or services; determine shipping costs
• Ensure a clean and safe work environment according to Health and Safety standards

Qualifications

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Personal Attributes:

The Sales person should be able to:

• Interact with customers using computers/computer systems to enter data or process information
• Interpersonal skills; initiative, effective communication, positive attitude
• Health and Safety standards for working in an industrial/commercial environment
• WHMIS guidelines for handling cleaning products and chemicals
• Maintain a professional appearance
• Demonstrate excellent work ethic; driven, organized, dependable and flexible
• Prioritize and multitask across various duties
• Work as a member of the team to ensure customer orders are met efficiently and accurately
• Take direction
• Work independently with minimal supervision
• Demonstrate attention to detail
