About the Position

Arborist - Climber

1+ years minimum production Arboriculture / Climbing experience

Proficient in pruning and removal of trees of all varieties

Professional and safety oriented, leadership and team skills required

Job Duties-

Provide Arboriculture services and inspections to client properties

Provide pruning and removal of trees up to electrical limits of approach

Responsible for climbing, pruning and removing trees as per work specifications

Capable of basic daily maintenance of truck, chipper and trimming equipment

Management of customer service, job site, and crew operation

General labour activities

Education/Assets/Other-

Class 5 or 3 Drivers license

Working knowledge of modern arboriculture climbing & rigging techniques.

Electrical safety and awareness and understanding

Chainsaw sharpening and tool maintenance, wood chipper and stump grinder daily maintenance

ISA certifications (Utility Tree Worker, Arborist)

Medical and Dental benefits program after 3-month probationary period.

Qualifications

Preferred candidate will have the following qualifications-

College diploma in the following majors: Biology, Environmental Science, Natural Resources, Horticulture

ISA Arborist certified (willingness to work towards certification) 1+ years climbing experience with knowledge of rigging, Ddrt / SRT, Crane work

Chainsaw Safety Certificate

Fall Arrest Certificate

Whimis Certificate

Class 3 Drivers License

Experience using Altec / Versalift booms

Experience using wood chippers, stump grinders

Experience using gas powered equipment

Experience using pruners, sheers, and other arborist equipment

Confident, safe, and efficient in all aspects of tree removal and pruning operations including working in proximity to hydro and utilizing cranes and aerial lifts where required.
