Santa's Signature Oatmeal
Water 3 ¼ cups
Salt ¼ tsp
Old-fashioned rolled oats 2 cups
NSCC Christmas Morning Oatmeal Topping as desired
1. In a medium saucepan bring water and salt to a boil.
2. Stir in rolled oats. Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
3. Remove the pan from the heat. If desired, cover and let stand for 2 minutes before serving. This allows the oats to absorb any remaining liquid.
4. Once portioned in bowls (roughly 4 servings), sprinkle with NSCC Christmas Morning Oatmeal Topping.
*this oatmeal topping would also make a great crumble topping for cranberry, apple, or bran muffins.
