NSCC residences

We've expanded our on-campus housing capacity in 2021. In addition to Davis Hall on Truro Campus, we've added student residences at both the Centre of Geographic Sciences (Annapolis Valley Campus) and the Strait Area Campus/Nautical Institute

Centre of Geographic Sciences (Annapolis Valley Campus)

COGS Residence

Opening September 2021

The residence at the Centre of Geographic Sciences (COGS) combines the convenience of being connected to all campus amenities with suite-style housing, making it the ideal home for both first-year students and those studying advanced diplomas.

Capacity: 35 student rooms
Room types: 1-bedroom, 2-bedroom and 4-bedroom suites
Laundry: Washers and dryers are available on all floors

  • 1-bedroom suite with full washroom: twin-size bed (extra long); bedside table; dresser and wardrobe; desk; desk chair; comfy chair; flat-screen TV; small culinary space (compact under-counter refrigerator/freezer, countertop microwave)
  • 2-bedroom suite with full washroom (fully accessible space): private bedrooms; twin-sized beds (extra long); bedside tables; dressers and wardrobes; desks; desk chairs; comfy chairs; shared common space with flat-screen TV; shared culinary area (bottom freezer refrigerator, induction stovetop, pots/pans, countertop microwave)
  • 4-bedroom suite with two washrooms (one with shower, one with shower/tub): private bedrooms; twin-sized beds (extra long), bedside tables, dressers and wardrobes; desks, desk chairs, comfy chairs; shared common space with flat-screen TV; shared culinary space (top freezer refrigerator, induction stovetop, pots/pans, over-range microwave)

Dining

Students living at COGS are enrolled in a $1000/term declining balance meal plan, offered through the full-service cafeteria.

Strait Area Campus/Nautical Institute

Strait Area Residence

Opening September 2021

The residence at Strait Area Campus/Nautical Institute combines the convenience of on-campus living with suite-style amenities.

Capacity: 39 student rooms
Room types: 1-bedroom, 2-bedroom and 3-bedroom suites
Laundry: Washers and dryers are available on the third floor

Truro Campus

Truro Residence

The residence at Truro Campus, called Davis Hall, provides the ideal location for students to access all campus resources. While living at Davis Hall, you’re never more than a five-minute walk from class, learning resources and recreational facilities.

New in 2021

Davis Hall received extensive renovations during the 2020-21 academic year. All rooms and washrooms have been upgraded and updated.

Capacity: 99 student rooms
Room types: Super single, single and double
Laundry: Washers and dryers are available on all floors

Accommodations

  • Super single: Super single rooms can be modified double rooms with one bed and two closets or traditional double rooms with only one occupant
  • Single: Single rooms are equipped with one bed and a closet (Please note: there are only 15 single rooms available)
  • Double (not being offered in 2021-22 academic year): Double rooms are equipped with two beds. They include a desk with three drawers and two closets

Dining

Students living in Davis Hall are enrolled in a meal plan (19 meals per week), which is offered through Soloan Hall, the campus dining room.
