This program, offered in partnership with Mohawk College and Future Skills Centre, introduces you to supply chain logistics. It gives you the warehousing and distribution skills employers are looking for.

You'll learn how to:

  • Apply supply chain language and standards to the workplace
  • Practice an industry standard of safety, efficiency and physical preparedness.
  • Develop tactics to support self-directed learning, problem-solving strategies and critical-thinking skills
  • Use written and oral communication to successfully share ideas and information

Through a paid, two-week work placement, you'll get practical, hands-on work experience, build your skills, and make on-the-job connections.

Work experience

  • Work placement is a mandatory credit course, providing the opportunity to apply your knowledge and skills outside of the classroom.
    • Opportunities for this program are paid and last 2 weeks.
    • While participating in Work Experience, you will be scheduled for full days of work.

Tuition, fees and program costs

This is a free program. There are no costs. Funding is also available for childcare, transportation and personal protective equipment.

Career options

  • Material handlers move, load and unload materials by hand or using specialized equipment. They're employed by manufacturing processing companies, retail and wholesale warehouses, and by transportation, storage and moving companies.
