Overview
Learn and practice working on a variety of electric vehicles. You train in industry-leading safety practices and service powertrain and temperature control systems, as well as high voltage battery charging systems. Additionally, various categories of high voltage vehicles, transmission types and connection procedures will be discussed.
You learn how to:
- Demonstrate high voltage safety procedures when providing maintenance on electric vehicles
- Identify connection procedures for different categories of high voltage vehicles
- Service high voltage powertrain systems to manufacturer and industry standard
- Service high voltage battery charging systems to manufacturer and industry standard
- Compare high voltage vehicle transmission types
- Service high voltage vehicle temperature management systems to manufacturer and industry standard
- Explain maintenance procedures for battery and hybrid electric high voltage vehicles
Admission requirements
- Applicants must hold a Certificate of Qualification as an Automotive Service Technician.
- Applicants must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents ages 18+.
