Kingstec Campus agenda

Thursday, October 17, 2019
9 am to 7 pm

This is your chance to explore NSCC. Tour our classrooms, labs, libraries and other spaces. Experience our programs first-hand and meet the students, alumni, faculty and staff that make us who we are. Learn more about Open House

What to expect

  • Start your Open House visit with conversations in our information area featuring interactive displays to introduce you to our programs, services, student life and community connections
  • Engage with Career in Gear, an interactive and engaging online tool to help guide your next steps with program exploration and career readiness
  • Explore our many interesting classrooms, labs and shops either through a guided tour, or, you're welcome to explore aspects of our campus learning environment on your own as well
  • How do you put a fire out with nothing? What happens when you plug a pickle into a wall socket? What happens when you put nitro on something… as in nitroglycerine? Part of the fun of being a chemistry teacher is being able to do experiments... just because they’re fun. Join Dr. Eric Sullivan and his students of the School of Access, Education and Language for some of their favorite experiments and classroom demonstrations at 11 am, 2 pm and 6 pm
  • Visit our Entrepreneurship and Innovation Booth in the gym and meet our Rotaract students – a first for NSCC!
  • We welcome you to join us to learn about the Early Childhood Education program in classroom A110. There will be hands-on activities for your engagement, including slime, preschool boxes, loose parts and found objects. We will have an informative video, work samples and information posters about the program.
  • There will be demonstrations and sampling of mocktails in the Dining Room
  • Continuing Care and Practical Nursing will offer interactive displays and tours of the lab facility
  • Connect with members of our alumni network. Check out our ongoing online digitization project for campus yearbooks over our many years of operation in the Valley
  • Our Horticulture programs students and faculty have created beautiful gardens - please take time to enjoy and stroll through our vineyards and greenhouses as well
