Who can borrow NSCC Libraries' laptops and iPads?

Borrowing and returning laptops and iPads

The 2020-2021 laptop and ipad borrowing program is currently under review and the parameters of the loan periods will be released soon.

Terms of use

When you borrow a laptop or iPad, you must adhere to NSCC's Technology Resources - Acceptable Use Policy (PDF 169KB). You must log in to a library laptop using your NSCC login credentials (w# and password) prior to leaving the campus. This is necessary so your NSCC network profile is set up on the laptop. Do not install unauthorized software or apps. You can use your personal AppleID to install apps on library iPads. You are responsible for any associated fees or charges.

Privacy protection

  • ensure your personal information is removed from the laptop or when you return it to your Campus Library (i.e. your AppleID)
  • save your work to OneDrive or a flash drive
  • when you return the equipment, all data and settings will be wiped from the device

Overdue fines and charges for damage or loss

  • overdue fines may be applied
  • late return of equipment results in blocking of equipment borrowing privileges
  • repair costs are assessed and applied on a case by case basis
  • damage beyond repair or loss of equipment and accessories will be subject to replacement charges:
    • replacement of iPad - $665.00
    • replacement of laptop - $600.00
    • replacement of accessories - $15.00
  • tampering with equipment tags, barcodes, and other labels will result in an administrative charge of $25.00
  • outstanding charges may be applied to your College account
