If you self-identify as Black/African Nova Scotian, you have the option to earn your high school diploma from an Africentric perspective through the Akerley Campus from anywhere in the province through virtual, online-synchronous, teacher-led learning.
In your first year of the program, you discuss topics such as culture, ancestry, traditions and world view. Learn about the knowledge and accomplishments of people of African ancestry and how they've influenced the world. Develop your confidence and potential by gaining exposure to African Canadian educators and mentors.
In your second year, transition into the ALP program to complete the additional credits you need to earn your high school diploma.
Program delivery may be subject to change based on Public Health guidelines.
Applicants who already have a high school diploma and want to upgrade or pick up a maximum of two missing courses needed for post-secondary study should visit Adult Learning Program – Academic Upgrading.
