Course Overview

This refresher-training course is designed to comply with regulations to refresh a seafarers training skills in basic emergency duties through the demonstration of practical drills and exercises. This training will allow seafarers to renew their MED training (MED STCW BS, MED PSC and MED AFF) for a period not exceeding 5 years. Note: A person must Valid Transport Canada Seafarer’s Medical and be of at least 16 years of age before applying to the course. Regulations may require a fitness test prior to joining the course. Applicants must hold training certificates in STCW 6.1 Basic Safety, STCW 6.2 Survival Craft and STCW 6.3 Advanced Fire Fighting before registering to this combined refresher course.
