Course Overview

This refresher training course is designed to comply with regulations to refresh a seafarers training skills in basic emergency duties through the demonstration of practical drills and exercises. This training will allow a seafarer to renew two MED training requirements (MED STCW BS and MED PSC) for a period not exceeding 5 years. A person must hold a valid Transport Canada Seafarer’s Medical to apply for this course. Note: A person must be of at least 16 years of age before applying to the course. Regulations may require a fitness test prior to joining the course. For further details, please contact the campus. Applicants must hold training certificates in STCW 6.1 Basic Safety and STCW 6.2 Survival Craft before registering to this combined refresher course.
