Continuing Education Courses for Certificate & Diploma Programs

NSCC Certificates are awarded to those students who successfully complete all the requirements equivalent to a full-time, one-year post secondary program approved by the Board of Governors and specified as a first level program. NSCC Diplomas are awarded to those students who successfully complete all the requirements for a post secondary program that is approved by the Board of Governors and is:

  • Equivalent to a full-time, two-year program, or
  • Equivalent to a full-time, one-year program and for which the admission requirement is successful completion of a college certificate.

NSCC Advanced Diplomas are awarded to those students who successfully complete all the requirements for a post-secondary program that is approved by the Board of Governors and is:

  • Three years in duration, or
  • Accredited by the Canadian Technology Accreditation Board at the Technologist level, or
  • One year in duration and for which the admission requirement is successful completion of a College Diploma or University Degree, or
  • Two years in duration and for which the admission requirement is successful completion of a College Certificate.

Registration to a credit course does not imply admission to any Certificate, Diploma or Advanced Diploma Program. Individuals who wish to enroll in such a program must apply separately for admission to that program. Once accepted into a program, students who have already successfully completed a credit course in that program may apply for the credit.
