Introduction to Medical Terminology (MOAS 1019)

This course introduces the learner to the fundamentals of medical terminology including the spelling, pronunciation, and meaning of medical terms. Greek and Latin derivatives (prefixes, suffixes, root words, and combining forms) will be introduced and analyzed. Related abbreviations as well as symptomatic, diagnostic, operative and therapeutic terms, diagnostic tests and procedures will also be covered. The health care record will also be discussed.
Pre-requisite: High School Graduation Diploma or equivalent.
