Welding Shielded Metal Arc I
This course introduces the students to different aspects of Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), including identification of consumables, joint preparation, destructive and non-destructive testing. Students are introduced to Arc Cutting Processes, as well as the operation of Oxy-fuel cutting equipment. Topics range from pad plate and filet weld in flat position using E6011 and E7018 electrodes to full penetration groove weld in the flat position. Students will be able to identify weld faults or defects and offer corrective solutions.
