Course Overview

This course introduces the student to the fundamentals of database management including planning, design, creation and modification. Once created, students will add, edit and delete records contained in a database. Students will create queries to obtain specific information from a database, design forms for working with database records, and design reports to print out data in various formats.

A student must have appropriate computer file management skills and general computer knowledge to be successful; therefore it is strongly recommended that the student has taken (or be taking) an introductory computer course (e.g.: COMP 1105).

Please Note: this credit course may be part of a credential program offered by NSCC. While a course may not have an admission requirement, all NSCC programs have admission requirements. For more information on programs and admissions, please visit Admission Requirements.

Additional Fees

College Service Fee and Student Association Fee may apply for Part Time students registered in credit courses. For more information please visit General Information.
