President's Update
Jan. 12, 2022 – Don Bureaux
Good afternoon:
As promised, after monitoring the current pandemic environment and guidance of the Province and Public Health, I have an update on the College’s program delivery since our temporary move to online learning.
Programs and service delivery
- The College anticipates a full return to campus on February 7, 2022. Until then we will continue with online learning and service delivery with exceptions for on-campus practical learning beginning Monday January 24, 2022.
- For programs with shop, lab and studio work, you will hear from your Academic Chair regarding your schedule for on-campus practical learning by January 18, 2022.
- See the Winter 2022 term program delivery by program from January 24 to February 5 (login required).
- We will continue to monitor the impacts of COVID-19 on our province. If circumstances require a shift in our plans for a full return to on-campus learning, we will update our community by January 28, 2022.
- Our laptop loan program is available for students who need to access technology for online learning. Please complete the request form to start the process.
- All student services (login required) (advising, counselling, learning supports, library and research support and disability supports) will continue to be available online. Questions can be answered through Live Chat (login required).
- The deadline for the last day to withdraw from winter term classes and receive a 95% fee refund (exclusive of non-refundable tuition deposit) is January 27, 2022.
- Opening cafeterias and fitness facilities will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Campuses will provide specifics around timelines for these services after February 4, 2022.
Your safety is a priority
- On your return to campus, we will ensure our many safety measures are there to support safe in-person learning and working. We continue to mandate masking (login required), physical distancing, capacity limits, cleaning protocols, vaccine requirements and Rapid Testing Centers.
- Please continue to follow updates and advice from Public Health especially if you have symptoms, have tested positive or have been told you are a close contact.
- Getting vaccinated and getting boosted is the most important tool we have to protect ourselves against COVID-19 and its variants. Access to COVID-19 boosters is continuing to be expanded - opening the door to more individuals to get that extra protection.
Keeping you up-to-date
I will continue to keep you updated as the situation evolves, providing information as needed. As we phase back into onsite learning, please be kind to others and to yourself. Always remember the services that are there to support your wellness (login required).
Thank you for your understanding and patience as we adapt our operations to keep you safe through the continuing Omicron variant outbreak affecting our province and so many others around the globe.
Thank you,
Don Bureaux
