African Heritage Month

February marked African Heritage Month, and the province’s theme for this year was Seas of Struggle – African Peoples from Shore to Shore. This theme celebrated people of African descent and their connection to Nova Scotia by recognizing their resiliency, strength, and determination throughout history. To honour and show our support, we shared news of initiatives and dedicated supports tailored to meet the needs of Black and African Nova Scotian students at the College.

Ask A Black Entrepreneur Panel

On February 9, NSCC Black and African Nova Scotian Employee Resource Network, NSCC Entrepreneurship and NSCC Alumni Relations hosted the third annual Ask a Black Entrepreneur Panel event. The virtual event welcomed all and featured four successful Black NSCC alumni entrepreneurs. Through financial support from the Alumni Fund, two students won door prizes and each panellist is being recognized with an alumni gift box filled with items from alumni-powered businesses.
