Starting college is a new and exciting experience and being financially prepared will help you succeed. Here are some funding options that can help you pay for your education.

Student loans

You may be eligible for financial assistance from the federal and provincial governments through the Canada Student Loans and Nova Scotia Student Loan programs. You only need to submit one application, and you'll automatically be assessed for provincial and federal grants that do not need to be repaid. Learn more about student loans

Student line of credit

If you don't qualify for a government loan, or you require further funding, many private institutions and banks offer low-interest student lines of credit. A line of credit gives you access to an agreed-upon amount of money, which can be withdrawn as needed. Interest is paid only on the money you withdraw.

NSCC financial support: Scholarships, bursaries and awards

  • We offer more than 1,000 scholarships, bursaries and awards that add up to over $2 million in student support each year.
  • Most awards range between $1,000 and $2,500 and are based on an array of criteria.
  • If you're a high school student, you can apply to have your first year of tuition paid through an entrance award
