The 2021-22 academic year begins with Orientation on September 7 and 8 – an event to help you prepare for the great year ahead. Depending on your program, Orientation may take place in person or online. Your campus will email you your Orientation schedule in late-August, so be sure to watch your NSCC email for details.

Here are just a few of the many reasons to attend:

Learn what it will be like when you return to campus.

Many of you will be learning on campus this year. At Orientation, you’ll learn about the measures we’ve put in place to ensure safety for everyone.

Meet your advisors and instructors.

You have advisors who are there to help you throughout your entire time at the College; meet them and learn how they can support you. You’ll also meet your instructors and learn what to expect from your program.

Learn about the supports available to you.

Get to know the wide variety of supports and services in place to help you succeed, including support for Indigenous and African Canadian students, services for students with disabilities, learning supports and free, professional counselling (to name just a few).

Get familiar with the technology you’ll use in your program.

Explore the tools and technology you’ll use to complete your program such as Brightspace - an online course delivery platform where you'll find course materials, outlines, class calendars, grades and more.

Learn about your campus’s Student Association.

When you become an NSCC student, you automatically become part of the Student Association at your campus. Learn about your Student Association’s services, supports and events and how you can get involved.
