4 things you probably never knew about NSCC

From historic ties to innovative firsts, each of NSCC's 13 campuses has its own claim to fame. We take a look around the province to bring you a three-part series on some cool facts about NSCC you probably never knew.

  1. Marconi Campus in Cape Breton is named after the inventor, Guglielmo Marconi. He transmitted the first official radio message to England from Nova Scotia in 1902.
  2. Strait Area Campus in Port Hawkesbury is the place to go for a career at sea as a navigator, engineer or deckhand. Its training is so unique even the Daily Planet had to stop by to check it out.
  3. Pictou Campus has produced many award-winning chefs. In fact, culinary programs across the college boast many noteworthy alumni.
  4. Cumberland Campus actually has two locations. The main campus is in Springhill and there's a learning center in Amherst.
