New Year - New Possibilities
Jan. 05, 2021 – Don Bureaux
Good afternoon,
I hope everyone had a restful and safe holiday break. I am looking forward with hope and optimism as we settle into 2021 and our winter academic term.
Wellness Week and Wellness Supports
Plans are already underway for Wellness Week – January 25 to 29. This is a time for us to prioritize wellness and, while our offerings will be online this term, we are striving to provide opportunities to connect and focus on the many small but important actions that support our well-being. More details on Wellness Week will be shared soon.
In the meantime, please continue to take advantage of the wellness supports available to you as NSCC students and employees (links to intranet, login required).
Students Returning from Outside Atlantic Canada
Any student coming to Nova Scotia from outside Atlantic Canada is directed to:
- Self-isolate for 14 days.
- Complete the Nova Scotia Safe Check-in
- Submit your quarantine plan. You can find more information on the required documentation on our student travel and arrival information page online.
Any student coming to Nova Scotia from outside Atlantic Canada should get one COVID-19 test on day 6, 7, or 8 of self-isolation. Appointments can be booked up to 3 days in advance.
Update to Requirements for International Air Travel
Last week the federal government announced that, effective January 7, 2021, all air passengers five years of age or older travelling to Canada will be required to provide documentation of a negative COVID-19 test result taken within 72 hours prior to their scheduled departure time. Anyone who receives a negative test result and is authorized to enter Canada must still complete the full, mandatory 14-day quarantine.
In this new year, filled with promise and possibilities, please continue to stay informed, stay connected and stay safe!
Sincerely,
Don Bureaux
