Dec. 16, 2020 – Don Bureaux
As this year comes to a close, I wanted to take a moment to send along holiday greetings, as well as my sincere thanks for all you do.
After a year like no other, it’s easy to focus on the negatives, but it’s so much more important to recall 2020’s highlights and pause to reflect on just how much we have for which to be thankful.
At a time when gift giving becomes the focus, it is vital that we remember what gifts are already within our grasp. The innovations as we changed course. The many positive achievements realized despite our new environment. The compassionate acts shown by so many. The new mindfulness around being kind to ourselves and others.
I am so fortunate to be surrounded by such a compassionate, giving, caring and committed college community. Your stories inspire and motivate me every day. Students and employees who, regardless of what is going on in their own lives, will set aside what they are doing if they see that someone needs their help and support.
Please take a moment to review this year’s holiday message, which includes illustrations by yet another of our talented and creative graduates, Miranda Hattie.
I wish you all only joy, good health, happiness for 2021 and, when it’s finally safe to do so, renewed connections with family, friends and community. Please have a safe, relaxing and peaceful holiday. See you in January!
