NSCC's response to COVID-19: view updates

COVID-19 President's Update - April 17, 2020

Apr. 17, 2020 – Don Bureaux

Good afternoon,

I know how busy everyone is as we head towards the end of this unique academic term. And while we move forward in new, creative and innovative ways, what hasn’t changed is how incredibly impressed I am at how you’ve all taken on the challenges presented to you.

Here are a few reminders and updates for this week:

  • For academic updates, please refer to the email sent yesterday from Anna Burke, Vice President Academic outlining spring and summer courses.
  • With more and more positive COVID-19 results across the province, we have heard of a few within our NSCC community. We have been in contact with those individuals to offer support and best wishes for a full and speedy recovery.
  • Please know, to date, these cases involve individuals who have not been on a campus or learning centre in the past five weeks. We continue to follow the direction of the Province’s Public Health Agency regarding positive cases and we are respecting their privacy and honouring our privacy legislation, and therefore are not able to share further details.
  • It is important to note, if there is a situation where a member of the NSCC community has been on campus or a learning centre within the critical 14-day time period connected with the virus, we will follow any protocols as directed by the Province’s Public Health Agency.

Thank you all for staying the course by working through new alternate routes.

Thank you for staying safe by following the directives of the provincial and federal governments.

Thank you for staying strong during this unprecedented, stressful time. Please never forget that, if you need them, wellness supports are there 24/7.

As always, we continue to update our COVID-19 site with the latest information.

Warm regards,
Don Bureaux
NSCC President
