NSCC's response to COVID-19: view updates

Covid-19

Changes to NSCC's COVID-19 requirements

We’re changing our response to COVID-19 to align with the provincial government’s easing of public health restrictions.

Safety continues to remain a priority. We’re committed to helping keep each other safe and will adapt our requirements as needed based on public health advice.

Masks

  •  Masks are strongly recommended but not mandatory.
    • Masking is a requirement in some programs and students in affected programs are aware of this.

Vaccines

  • To remain in step with the Province, we no longer require proof of vaccination or testing to enter campus. However, getting vaccinated and boosted is the best way to protect against COVID-19 infection.

NSCC rapid testing sites

  • To align with the lifting of the vaccine mandate, voluntary testing will remain for students and employees until the end of March -- or until our testing supplies run out.

Work placements

  • We'll be communicating with industry partners around our new COVID-19-related requirements and timelines; however, individual work sites can have their own requirements, which must be followed.

Campus resources and communities

  • Fitness facilities, gyms and other campus gathering spaces are reopening throughout March.
    • Principals will provide specifics to campus communities.
  • GED testing sites are fully open.
  • Our evolving COVID-19-related guidelines are being communicated to tenants, vendors and contractors.

Reporting cases

  • Throughout March, people who test positive for COVID-19 are required to self-isolate, however, they're no longer required to notify close contacts outside their own households.
