Dashboard Updates Measure Progress on Ivany Goals
November 23, 2017 – Media Release
Halifax, NS – The One Nova Scotia Dashboard has been updated to provide more information on the province’s progress on the One NS goals.
The new measures include business start-ups, employment rate for First Nations & African Nova Scotians and venture capital. Updates have also been made to existing measures affecting our population, exports, employment and education.
The One NS dashboard is a digital tool that measures progress on the Ivany goals. It brings objective information and data about key Nova Scotia economic and demographic indicators together in one place, and makes it accessible to anyone, at any time.
"The ONE NS goals are intentionally challenging to encourage innovative and entrepreneurial thinking to achieve the report goals," says NSCC President Don Bureaux, the convener of the One NS Dashboard. "There are so many people and organizations coming together to help change the narrative and grow the province. We’re pleased to see the collaboration and innovative ideas driving progress of so many of the goals."
To be included in the dashboard, data must be publicly accessible, come from trusted sources and be replicable year after year. The independent measurement collective then comes to an objective consensus about the story it tells.
The dashboard evolved following recommendations for measurement and public accountability, as well as for more collaborative action.
