Diversity & Inclusion
The Office of Diversity and Inclusion is committed to fostering an environment that is welcoming and inclusive to our NSCC community and others. The Office leads and supports various educational and awareness activities throughout the year that highlight the value and importance of diversity, equity, inclusion, and the promotion of a respectful working and learning environment.
All students and employees are encouraged to take advantage of the services available through the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, including:
Advice on a range of topics and issues related to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Advice may be in the form of one-on-one consultation, participation on working groups/committees, review of materials, etc. (e.g. inclusive language).
Education on a range of topics and issues related to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Education may be in the form of information sharing, awareness sessions, training courses, workshops, experiential learning, webinars, etc. (e.g. Understanding Diversity & Building Bridges workshop).
Promotion of activities, events, initiatives, and observances related to diversity, equity, and inclusion (e.g. coordination and support of the College's participation in Pride events).
Professional Services related to accessibility, diversity, equity, inclusion, and conflict resolution (e.g. Sign Language interpretation, mediation, conflict coaching, etc.).
