Board of Governors – Staff Elections
The Board of Governors of the Nova Scotia Community College holds elections to appoint staff representative(s) annually. Terms are for three (3) years beginning in November. The 2016 Staff Elections are scheduled to begin on October 3, 2016 and voting will take place online beginning November 1, 2016.
For 2016, the NSCC Board of Governors elections will be for one staff member from the Academic category.
Regular meetings of the Board take place around the province on a bi-monthly basis. There are three (3) standing committees of the Board (Finance, Risk and Audit; Programs; and Governance) which also meet bi-monthly. Staff Governors are asked to serve on one of these Committees as well. Board meetings are usually three (3) hours in duration and Committee meetings are approximately two (2) hours.
Existing Staff Governors have the option to run for a second term provided they still meet the requirements.
Nominations begin on October 3 and close on October 19. Late Nominations will not be accepted.
