As interior work begins, the exterior is coming together at Akerley Campus' student housing build.

The 48,000 sq. foot student housing at Akerley Campus is another day closer to welcoming students home. As interior work progresses, external progress remains on track for its Fall 2024 opening.  

The latest progress

  • Stud walls are now installed on the third floor and in progress on the second floor
  • Mechanical systems (fire sprinklers, plumbing and electrical) continue on schedule 
  • Window installation is nearing completion 
  • Spray-on fire protection on structural steel is well underway 
  • Drywall installation is expected to begin in the coming weeks 
  • Externally, roofing work is in progress with site work on the grounds continuing to manage roof and ground water 
  • Trenching for electrical installation to the building has began 
  • Sewer and water connections are scheduled to start in the coming weeks
