COVID-19 case identified at NSCC Akerley Campus

Apr. 30, 2021 – Statement

On Friday [Apr. 30], Public Health notified NSCC of a positive COVID-19 test connected to a member of the Akerley Campus community.

The individual was last on campus on April 27, 2021. Anyone considered a close contact of the individual will receive a provincial Public Health notification via email.

The individual is self-isolating and receiving direction and support from Public Health. They are aware that they may not return to NSCC until they’ve received advice from Public Health that it is safe to do so. As always, NSCC can’t share details about the individual due to privacy legislation.

With existing lockdown rules (effective now through May 12), the campus will be closed this weekend and open again Monday only for essential staff and service providers. Any further updates will be shared through NSCC email, our COVID-19 website, and on social media.

NSCC Akerley Campus will continue to work with Public Health and encourages everyone to stay committed to all precautions advised by Public Health and the College to help protect each other and our communities from COVID-19.
