Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) Update
Mar. 15, 2020 – Statement
NSCC announcing operational changes in response to COVID-19 pandemic
Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC) is suspending classes following this week’s scheduled Study Break by two weeks: Monday, March 23 – Friday, April 3, 2020.
The College will take this time to prepare alternative learning options for our community to complete coursework through various methods, such as online and remote learning. Students will be updated no later than Friday, April 3 as to how the remainder of courses will be managed.
Currently, all campuses and sites remain open. All other campus-based courses, including apprenticeship training, scheduled from March 16 through to April 3 are also suspended. All online courses will continue as usual following the already scheduled College Study Week. Our Truro campus housing is open, however, we are asking residents to move out by Wednesday, March 25 and the Campus will work with those unable to do so by that date.
The College will continue to assess this situation and its impact on the winter and spring terms, work placements and co-ops.
As per the provincial directive to allow those who can work from home to do so, management will work with their teams to support that direction where possible.
The health and safety of our students, employees and broader community is of paramount importance to the College. We are taking these measures to protect the health and safety of our communities and share in the collective efforts to stem the flow of the COVID-19 pandemic. We continue to update our website with current information and new updates.
