Holiday food and drink

The first video in our learning series shows you how to make holiday favourites such as egg nog, coffee cake and flat icing. Our instructors in the video include:

Recipes

Eggnog Chantilly

  • 400 ml whipping cream
  • 100 ml eggnog
  • 1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons icing sugar
  • To taste - vanilla
  • To taste - fresh nutmeg

Holiday Coffee Cake

  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 3/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 orange zest
  • 4 eggs
  • 15 ml vanilla
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1.5 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 tablespoons winter spice
  • 150 ml milk
  • 25 ml sour cream
  • 1/2 cup dried fruit, rehydrated
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts

Flat icing

  • 1 cup icing sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
