If you're a high school graduate, Academic & Career Connections has everything you need to pursue the future you want. The courses are broad enough to prepare you for any career option, and help you gain the knowledge and skills you need to advance to the next step of your education.

Choose from a range of courses that help you upgrade your credits, explore your career options, and get started earning credits towards other NSCC certificate or diploma programs. With each course, you get top-quality instructors who work with you to provide a challenging and rewarding learning experience. You can enrol full-time or part-time, and many campuses offer courses in a classroom setting during the day, and/or options to study online.

Admission Requirements

  • High School Graduation Diploma or equivalent.

Part-time Study

  • This program is available for part-time study. You have the option to complete your program in-class, online, or through a combination of courses delivered in-class and online.
  • If you apply for the part-time study option, you must meet all the admission requirements.
  • Once admitted, you are referred to a Campus Registrar for course selection. Some courses will also be available through Continuing Education.
  • The time to complete the program through part-time study will vary, and depend on the schedule you choose, and number of courses you complete each term.
  • Tuition for part-time study option is calculated on a per-course basis, and is paid at the beginning of each term.

Course Options

  • Courses available generally reflect the subjects and areas covered by the certificate and diploma programs that are offered at each campus. At some campuses, students can also cluster their courses to focus on specific areas – Human Services, Science for Technology, and Science for Health.
  • Science for Health – Are you looking to pursue a career in health, such as Medical Laboratory Technologist, Dental Assistant, Health Information Management, Pharmacy Technician, or Practical Nursing, but need to upgrade your science skills and/or acquire the academic pre-requisites you need to meet the admission requirements? The Science for Health courses provide you with a focused opportunity to build your knowledge in subjects like Biology, Chemistry, Math, and Communications.
  • Science for Technology – Are you looking to pursue a career in technology, such as Architectural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Electronic Engineering, or Environmental Engineering, but need to upgrade and get the credits or marks in science you need to meet the admission requirements? Science for Technology courses provide you with a focused opportunity to build your knowledge in subjects like Chemistry, Physics, Math, and Communications.
  • Academic Credits – If you've been out of school for a few years, this program provides a great place to reconnect to learning and build the study skills you need to find success as a student. You can also pick up the academic credits that are needed for many programs (including Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Communication (English) courses).
