NSCC Alumni
Knowing the value of scholarships for students, it seems to be a very appropriate legacy for graduates to support today's students through the form of a bursary or scholarship.

Lifelong learner, community volunteer, mentor, entrepreneur and proud NSCC Alumni – Cathy Langille has done it all. A graduate of NSCC's predecessor Halifax County Regional Vocational School (HCRVS), Cathy has been leading the charge rounding up former classmates to get them involved in NSCC's Alumni efforts. She has been very active organizing reunion events and is helping the college plan the 60th anniversary of the Bell Road Campus which takes place this year. "Right now, I'm trying to get the word out to as many former students as I can find," says Cathy.
Now retired, Cathy shows no signs of slowing down. Outside of her many volunteer efforts, she recently started a small business, Impact Woven Products, and just completed NSCC's 'Build your own Website' continuing education course.
Cathy has always valued education and the programs offered by NSCC. "NSCC is core to the needs of Nova Scotia," she says. It is with this belief that Cathy and other alumni have started to do some initial thinking around developing an NSCC bursary. "Knowing the value of scholarships for students, it seems to be a very appropriate legacy for graduates to support today's students through the form of a bursary or scholarship," she adds.
This is welcome news to NSCC's Alumni office. "The energy and enthusiasm Cathy has brought to our Alumni efforts is amazing," says Ashley Power, NSCC Alumni Officer. "She is helping us meet alumni from our predecessor schools so we can fully welcome them to the NSCC Alumni community."
