The Foundation was founded in 2001 as a registered charity with the Canada Revenue Agency and is managed by a volunteer Board of Directors. The Board consists of key leaders and professionals in the community who are dedicated to helping Nova Scotians achieve their potential.
The Foundation's mandate is to develop and implement strategies required to achieve the fund raising priorities as determined by the college and approved by the Board of Governors.
- be responsible for all fundraising campaigns and the management & stewardship of all monies raised
- endowment revenue disbursed as required by terms and reference of each endowment
- all funds disbursed in a manner consistent with College's priorities and regulations of Canada Revenue Agency
All relationships are based on the platform of how can we help you make a difference. Residing on this platform allows us to always put the donor first and to focus on making a difference.
NSCC Foundation Values
We are dedicated to listening to our donors and their intentions while working with them to accomplish their wishes in support of NSCC. We will help direct their support through the appropriate channels to best meet their needs and we will ensure their support is stewarded in a timely and personal fashion. We will steward our supporters with respect and consideration and we will act responsibly with their gifts.
Understanding that there are many diverse needs, we will focus our resources on the priorities as outlined by the College. These priorities will require input and consultation from the college community and will be reviewed on a regular basis.
We recognize the strength of our partners, both internally and externally and we will use a collaborative approach that demonstrates trust, goodwill and accountability.
While focusing on specific priorities outlined by the Board of Governors, we recognize that we represent the College and all its schools and campuses. We will ensure that our work brings pride to the College and we will strive to make the most of all opportunities presented.
Donor Bill of Rights
Each year, we will re-commit to the international Donor Bill of Rights.
The Donor Bill of Rights was created by the American Association of Fund Raising Counsel (AAFRC), Association for Healthcare Philanthropy (AHP), the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE). It has been endorsed by numerous organizations.
