Board of Governors Student Elections
Student Governors
The Board of Governors of NSCC holds elections to appoint 2 student representatives to the Board each year. Terms are for 1 year beginning in November. The 2012 Student Elections are scheduled to begin on October 9, 2012 and voting will take place online beginning October 29, 2012.
There are 2 student appointments:
- Metro Student – from one of the metro campuses
- Provincial Student – from one of the remaining campuses
Regular meetings of the Board take place around the province on a bi-monthly basis. There are 3 Standing Committees of the Board (Finance & Audit, Programs, and Governance) which also meet bi-monthly. Student Governors are asked to serve on one of these Committees as well. Board meetings are usually 3 hours in duration and Committee meetings are approximately 2 hours.
Existing Student Governors have the option to run for a second term provided they still meet the requirements.
Nominations
Nominations begin on October 9 and close on October 17. Late Nominations will not be accepted. For further information with regards to running for one of the 2 Student Governor positions please contact .
