Congratulations to the four outstanding students of Cobequid Education Centre (CEC) who beat out six other high schools at this year’s Ready, Set, Cook! Competition at the Sobeys Culinary Centre at NSCC Akerley Campus on April 28.

Teams from seven high schools across Nova Scotia competed this year, each mentored by a professional chef. CEC had the good fortune to work with chef Wayne Parkington from the Holiday Inn Hotel & Conference Centre, Truro.

Each team prepared a three-course meal and was evaluated on culinary skills, teamwork and presentation by a prestigious panel of chefs. The competition was fierce. Sir John A. Macdonald High School grabbed the silver medal, while Hants East Rural High School snached the bronze. Auburn Drive High School, Citadel High, Central Kings Rural High, Northeast Kings Education Centre all brought the goods too. Well done!
