African Canadian Student Services
If you are a member of the African Canadian community and are interested in attending College you should contact College Admissions for information and deadlines on College programs and possible eligibility for designated seats for those who wish to self identify as a member of this group.
NSCC offers an Africentric adult learning program for African Nova Scotians who want to complete their high school diploma. Learn more about the African Canadian Transition Program.
If you are a student of NSCC there may be initiatives on your campus such as mentorship opportunities, a Black students' network, or customized services available to you. These activities are arranged through the Coordinator African Canadian Student Success whose role it is to work with faculty and staff to ensure that the campus environment is inclusive and culturally relevant.
The College also has an African Canadian Advisory Committee, which provides advice and guidance to the College on matters affecting the skills training of the Community. The Committee has three NSCC student representatives.
